Serving the City of Franklin, Kentucky
Faith Promise Baptist Church faithfully preached the Gospel for 16 years in Portland, Tennessee, before God led us to relocate to Franklin, Kentucky, in 2016. Since moving, we’ve been actively sharing God’s Word with the people of Franklin.
From weekly services and soulwinning outreach to community events and personal discipleship, we are committed to reaching Franklin with the Gospel. God is already at work here, and we’re thankful to see lives changed and families strengthened.

Our History
2000
Faith Promise Baptist Church began its ministry
On July 15th, 2000, Pastor Gene Dame and Mrs. Cathy held the first church service inside an old storefront in Portland, TN.
2001
FPBC moved to its second building
In 2001, FPBC moved for the first time. The building was a former karate studio. FPBC remained in this building until 2002.
2002
Moving buildings.
In November 2002, the church moved into a used tire shop in Portland, where it continued to faithfully have church services.
2016
Off to Kentucky!
In 2016, we made the big move to Franklin, Kentucky, where we finally moved into our first real church building. God has blessed us greatly with this beautiful facility. If you visit us next Sunday, this is where you’ll be!
2020
Overcoming the COVID-19 Pandemic
The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic did not stop our church from worshiping the Lord as a family. During the most difficult months of the pandemic, we had weekly drive-in services where we listened to God’s Word from our cars. This gave us the opportunity to worship the Lord as a family, while also remaining safe.
2025
Celebrating 25 Years
In August 2025, we celebrated our 25th anniversary as a church.

Pastor and Pastor’s Wife
Pastor Gene Dame has faithfully served as Pastor of Faith Promise Baptist Church since the church’s founding in 2000. Pastor Dame’s wife, Cathy, has stood by his side for all 25 years of ministry.
